Position: Account Manager – Western, PA

We are seeking a dynamic, independent and motivated problem solver to manage key accounts in the Western, PA area.  This exciting opportunity offers the ability to develop relationships with key customers and manage the business development and strategic sales of mobile and industrial solutions for a top distributor.

Responsibilities:

• Managing existing accounts and developing and maintaining successful relationships with customers
• Business development of sales of mobile and industrial solutions to new and existing customers
• Handling customer inquiries, leads and recommending strategic solutions
• Developing strategies to meet business and financial company objectives by understanding the market and identifying opportunities.
• Understand and mobilizing the resources of Scott Industrial Systems to execute customer and company initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Our Account Managers have experience selling in the Fluid Power Markets with both mobile and industrial solutions such as fluid power system design, control design and engineering, Industrial power units, valve and manifold design, open and closed loop pump and system design and general application of fluid power products.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years inside/outside sales experience in fluid power products or related technical products field.
• Experience supporting OEM, mobile and industrial markets preferred.
• Have a proven track record of success in this field & the local market
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required
Physical Requirements:
• Capable of lifting to 25 lbs.

Scott Industrial Systems Acquires Sun Coast Hydraulic Electric Manufacturing Inc.

Scott Industrial Systems, a full line fluid power distributor, is proud to announce their acquisition of Sun Coast Hydraulic Electric Manufacturing Inc. Established in 1993, Sun Coast specializes in development and commissioning of custom-engineered industrial control panels, VFD control systems, industrial PLCs, HMI interface packages, odor control systems, and hydraulic power units. Their odor control systems destroy lift station and headworks odors without the use of expensive chemicals.

Position: Fluid Power Technician

Scott Industrial Systems is a large fluid power/motion control distributor providing engineered solutions for Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. We are currently seeking a Hydraulic Mechanic for our Engineered Systems group in Dayton, Ohio. We distribute products from the world’s leading fluid power equipment manufacturers, including Eaton/Vickers, Parker, and over 40 others. We are a privately held business with nearly 100 employees that has been in business for 69 years.

Position Summary:  The technician’s primary responsibilities include the building and fabrication of hydraulic and pneumatic Engineered Systems projects. We are looking for an individual with a solid hands-on, mechanical background. Teamwork and communications skills are vital to collaborate within the department and with customers.

Job Functions:

• Read schematics and follow drawings to build hydraulic system applications
• Work with engineering staff on the initial design and specifications
• Identify components and materials being used in the system and integrate them.
• Ability to follow direction and ask for assistance if needed through the construction process
• Perform final testing of the completed system
• Complete technical documentation for completed projects
• Support and troubleshooting of systems for the engineering team

Required Education and Experience:

• High School diploma (Tech or vocational education a plus)
• Entry Level to 5+ years mechanical work experience
• Provide your own basic hand tools

Qualifications and Skills (Preferred):

• MIG welding, industrial maintenance
• Ability to successfully prioritize and complete multiple tasks
• Industrial wiring
• Previous hydraulic experience a plus

Introducing our New Vice President of Sales

Scott Industrial Systems welcomes Kevin Smith as our new Vice President of Sales.

Kevin is a highly accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years of success within manufacturing, electronics, software, mobile and industrial engineering, OEM, distribution, and warehousing in the Fluid Power industry.

Most recently, Kevin was affiliated with Certified Power Inc., where he served in a range of increasingly progressive roles. His latest position was as President and General Manager of the CPS division, Certified Power Solutions (2007 to 2016). From 2003 to 2007 Kevin was tenured as VP, Sales & Marketing of the Mobile Systems business unit. He played an integral role in the acquisition and integration of Hydromantic Solutions of St Louis and Basin Fluid Power of ND and most recently with Cirus Controls in MN. His business unit also included responsibilities for the Municipal/Government/Vocational Truck Division where he managed sales and marketing efforts for that sector of the business.

As a proven thought leader, strategic planning and business development director, Kevin has been awarded many sales and distribution awards, including; Danfoss Distributor Growth & Excellence Award in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013; Parker Distributor Growth & Excellence Award in 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2010; and Better Roads & Bridges Industry Product Innovation Award.

Kevin resides in the Chicagoland area with his wife and children and will work from both the new Schaumberg office as well as from the Dayton office.

John comes to us with nearly 20 years’ experience in Outside Industrial Sales. He is a native of Tennessee and will be an integral part of our growth plans for this region.

Cory is a U of L Speed School Mechanical Engineering Grad who achieved a full ride scholarship. He has experience in this industry with American Air Filter and Toyota. Cory will be adding his strengths to the Scott Industrial family and is very determined.
