Position: Electronic Controls Engineer

Scott Industrial Systems is a large fluid power/motion control distributor providing engineered solutions for Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer with electrical/electronic training or experience for our Engineered Systems group in Dayton, Ohio. We distribute products from the world’s leading fluid power equipment manufacturers, including Eaton/Vickers, Parker, and over 40 others. We are a privately held business with 80 employees that has been in business for 69 years.

Qualifications:

• Proven capability of debugging custom equipment
• Proven experience in interacting with clients
• Proven experience in working in a team environment
• Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to follow a budget and schedule
• Proven experience with automation and electrical system design
• Working knowledge of the NFPA79 electrical standard for industrial machinery
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from sales, manager groups, and clients

General Computer Skills:

• Microsoft Office

Technical Software Requirements:

• Autodesk Inventor
• Industrial PLC and/or HMI programming experience
• CoDeSys Programming language experience would be a plus

Technical Hardware Requirements (any of the following):

• Allen Bradley, Delta, Eaton, and/or Parker
• Hydraforce, Parker IQAN and/or Sauer-Danfoss Plus+1
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s)

Education:

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university OR a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechatronics Engineering from a four-year college or university with 5+ years related experience
• Acceptable: Associates Degree (AAS) in Electronic or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years related experience
• Fluid power experience a plus

Job Function:

• Develop control systems designs and detailed customer quotations
• Develop functional description from a system layout that meets the quoted budget
• Develop hardware requirements to meet the functional description
• Develop PLC, and HMI software to meet the functional requirements of the equipment
• Debug the PLC and HMI software
• Learning about the application of fluid power to solve various motion control problems
• Be the project engineer who tests equipment with the customer either in our shop or onsite
• Assist with any follow-up trips to fully commission the equipment

Introducing our New Vice President of Sales

Scott Industrial Systems welcomes Kevin Smith as our new Vice President of Sales.

Kevin is a highly accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years of success within manufacturing, electronics, software, mobile and industrial engineering, OEM, distribution, and warehousing in the Fluid Power industry.

Most recently, Kevin was affiliated with Certified Power Inc., where he served in a range of increasingly progressive roles. His latest position was as President and General Manager of the CPS division, Certified Power Solutions (2007 to 2016). From 2003 to 2007 Kevin was tenured as VP, Sales & Marketing of the Mobile Systems business unit. He played an integral role in the acquisition and integration of Hydromantic Solutions of St Louis and Basin Fluid Power of ND and most recently with Cirus Controls in MN. His business unit also included responsibilities for the Municipal/Government/Vocational Truck Division where he managed sales and marketing efforts for that sector of the business.

As a proven thought leader, strategic planning and business development director, Kevin has been awarded many sales and distribution awards, including; Danfoss Distributor Growth & Excellence Award in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013; Parker Distributor Growth & Excellence Award in 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2010; and Better Roads & Bridges Industry Product Innovation Award.

Kevin resides in the Chicagoland area with his wife and children and will work from both the new Schaumberg office as well as from the Dayton office.

Introducing our New Outside Sales Team Members – Southern District

Scott Industrial Systems welcomes John Tracy as a new Account Manager for Tennessee and Cory Howell as a new Account Manager for Western Kentucky.

John comes to us with nearly 20 years’ experience in Outside Industrial Sales. He is a native of Tennessee and will be an integral part of our growth plans for this region.

Cory is a U of L Speed School Mechanical Engineering Grad who achieved a full ride scholarship. He has experience in this industry with American Air Filter and Toyota. Cory will be adding his strengths to the Scott Industrial family and is very determined.

John will be responsible for the territory formerly covered by our representative, Josh Adams. Cory will be responsible for the territory formerly covered by our representative, Doug Grogg. Please join us in welcoming them to the Scott Team!

Job Requirements:

Our Account Managers have experience selling in the Fluid Power Markets with both mobile and industrial solutions such as fluid power system design, control design and engineering, Industrial power units, valve and manifold design, open and closed loop pump and system design and general application of fluid power products.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years inside/outside sales experience in fluid power products or related technical products field.
• Experience supporting OEM, mobile and industrial markets preferred.
• Have a proven track record of success in this field & the local market
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required
Physical Requirements:
• Capable of lifting to 25 lbs.

Stucchi USA is the subsidiary of Stucchi Spa which is a family owned and managed corporation located in the Northern Italy province of Brignano, in the town of Pagazzano.
